Nishinomaru Garden

When Toyotomi Hideyoshi settled for Osaka as his location to rule the newly unified Japan in the late 1500's, his wife, Kita-no-mandokoro, took residence in this garden next to the castle.

Currently the vast garden is home to some 600 cherry trees and a popular place to visit during the cherry blossoms. This particular part of Osaka Castle Park requires a small fee to enter (JPY 200-350 depending on season).
